LOCATIONS

THE TOWN OF SUNRISE HILLS
Sunrise Hills is a quaint old Western town built in the shadow of a cliff, which the Salty Splatoon happens to be built up against! It's pretty much a one road town with fairly steep hills around it, with a few regular locals who prefer not to deal with outsiders. Also horses. Plenty of horses. And a gate bearing the town's name. For some reason, no matter your physical ability or sign, you can't climb up the hills or open the gate... it's like there's some kind of weird force field around the place. Huh. Weird. There are a few notable locations, though, which are as follows:
THE SALTY SPLATOON INN AND SALOON: The mysterious old timey Western inn where you wake up! You'll wake up in your assigned room on the second floor. When you go down the stairs, you'll find the locals are... not particularly friendly. They're not actively hostile, but they seem like they'd rather not deal with you than anything else. Per the rules of the game, though, you do have access to the inn's amenities, such as the bar! What self-respecting saloon doesn't have a bar? It's a pretty sizable place, with enough chairs to accommodate all the players and then some locals, and there's a stage off to the right of the bar proper for any performing you want to do! Or... might not want to do. Who knows. There's also a kind of cheap chandelier hanging from the ceiling! The booze is actually pretty good, too, honestly.
The other amenity you're allowed inside is the kitchen... on the off hours. The chef will absolutely kick you out if you try going into the kitchen from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., because he'll be busy! But any other time you can go on in and make your own food. And maybe steal a knife or two. Maybe. As for the kitchen's amenities... well, it's kind of old-fashioned. The oven's a wood-fired stove, and while there isn't really refrigeration, all the meat and vegetables are fresh every day.
THE SQUARE: Right in front of the Salty Splatoon is the town square! It's a nice little place where people can meet up and chat in front of the water tower and get water from the well. You've got options! There's also an even more old-fashioned pair of stocks off to the side reserved for people who break the rules.
THE BLACKSMITH'S SHOP: Those horses have to get their shoes somewhere! It should be noted, though, that the blacksmith isn't the most attentive guy, and you can usually find him asleep when you enter his shop. Maybe he should be a little more careful, since there's a lot of dangerous equipment in there. Like those hammers. They're pretty big hammers.
THE POST OFFICE: There's only a bored postman here, who will just tell you that they're expecting a shipment of something called "lootboxes..." next week. Huh. Well, that's a bummer.
THE GENERAL STORE: A nice little store where you can pick up some dried food and... basically anything you'd expect from an old general store. Buy some candy. Except you don't really have to buy it because you've got no money. Maybe you can beg a little bit.
THE COURTHOUSE/SHERIFF'S OFFICE: You're not actually allowed in this big, imposing building at the moment. Will you be allowed in there? Maybe. Probably. ...yeah. Just wait for someone to die, I guess...
THE STABLES AND PADDOCK: Just your standard stables! This is the home for most of the horses wandering around town, but... well, the stables have seen stranger inhabitants than just horses. So who knows what you might end up seeing there... but you can, at least, look out into the paddock and watch some horsies. Or ride around for funsies. No problem.
